SPITZNAS has been convincing for more than 100 years

Founded in 1904 by Ferdinand Spitznas – the inventor of the pneumatic vane motor- the company grew and developed to the main supplier of pneumatic driven tools for the German coal mining industry.

Based on our experience in hazardous environments the tools and drives were used more and more in various fields:

  • Oil and gas industry
  • Power plants
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Fire and rescue departments
  • Wind energy

Developing new powerful hydraulic drives for the main hand-held tools, SPITZNAS entered new markets:

  • Underwater works
  • Construction
  • Road building

By continuous product development as well as by entering new markets, SPITZNAS became a well-established name.

Designing and manufacturing of customized products and solutions grew to a main part of the business.

Foundation of SPITZNAS by Ferdinand Spitznas for machinery and equipment for the mining industry

Ferdinand Spitznas invents the air vane motor for hand-held pneumatic tools
1924
Further development of the pneumatic vane motor as drive for tools

Opening-up of new fields of application by explosion-proof and robust tools for the German mining industry
1957
Extension of the delivery program by customized technical special solutions
1962
New SPITZNAS company building in Velbert-Langenberg with 5,000 m2 operating area
1994
Production of hydraulic spare parts for own repairs, construction of the first hydraulic test bench with 90 kW drive power

Installation of the first hydraulic test stand with capacity of 90 kW

Foundation of the in-house development and research centre for hydraulic drives

Extension of the testing facilities with the new hydraulic test stand with 600 kW
